What is this blog for? Objectives

My main goal is to “help you get started”. There are plenty of educational resources (books, videos, social media accounts) to learn, but sometimes, there is so much information, that we don't know where to start. So I want you to take that first step to start doing more with your money.

I'd like you to be in control of your finances and have the data you need to make informed decisions, and here's how I can help you:

  1. Solid foundation: We will review the main concepts of economy and investment that will be useful to better manage your family finances.
  2. Control and data: I will try to give you simple tools and methods to control your family's income and expenses, as well as to make a budget in advance.
  3. Strategy: I will motivate you to design your family's financial strategy, answering key questions such as: What is important to us, how do we want to live, how much do we save, how much do we spend and when do we invest?
  4. Take the first step: I would like to get you to open one (or several) investment accounts and make your first investment transactions.

Who is this blog for?

I want this blog to help as many people as possible. It is ideal for families or couples who have some monthly surplus and want to better structure and control their family finances.

You don't need to have a lot of prior knowledge of investments, just a desire to learn and improve your financial situation.

Most of all, I want to condense some of the information that is published and serve as a platform for those who are looking to do something with their savings, but do not have much time (or desire) to spend on these topics.

What does and does not cover this blog?

I want to cover as many concepts of financial education as possible, the financial education that we should have been taught in school but that is always “forgotten”.

But I don't want you to have to look at your finances every day, or use tools that are impossible to handle (I don't do it).

I will not promise you exaggerated returns or encourage you to make risky operations. We also want to minimize commission expenses, making few operations. In summary, we will look at, adapt and summarize the Bogleheads philosophy for you to follow, even if you don't know what it is (I encourage you to read it).

I want to help you take control of your household finances in a practical and effective way, and also convince you that it is simpler than it seems.

I hope you enjoy the process and learn a lot along the way!
