What is FileConverter?

A secure way to standardize your financial data

If you are like us, you will probably have multiple accounts and banks that you need to control. Whether it's accounts for you and your spouse, accounts for different purposes (day to day expenses, credit cards, savings, investments…), accounts in different currencies or countries, and so on

And if you are like us, and serious about managing your finances, you will want to have ALL the transactions from ALL your accounts in only one place, so that you can monitor, track and analyze your financial life.

The Challenge

But all this financial data about your transactions is VERY important and VERY sensitive, and this leads to two effects:

  1. Banks usually make it difficult to get this data aggregated.
  2. Banks are very interested in having all your information, even if it is from other banks.

Current Options

So if you want to have all your information in one place, you typically have these options (if you know of more options, please let us know):

  1. You use your favourite bank's account aggregation system or tool so that they can access your information from other banks and institutions.
  2. You use a 3rd party tool so that they connect to your accounts and aggregate the information about you.
  3. You have your own system (usually in Excel or a database) where you input your transactions somehow on a regular basis.

Our Solution

This is why we have created FileConverter. This tool allows you to upload your bank statement(s) and convert them to a common format where you only have the date, description and amount for each transaction.

Security & Privacy

And what about Security and Privacy? In the end, you are still uploading your data to our service. The file travels encrypted (https), only your account can read it while you convert it, and it is deleted as soon as you download the result, or after 30 minutes at the latest if you don't.

Our Promise to You

  1. We never keep your statements, and of course we will never give or sell any of your data to anyone.
  2. We will be available to provide any other explanations or security audits if needed.
